Most often, our home providers are looking to provide a private bedroom plus shared use of the common spaces in the home, like kitchen and living room. But sometimes home providers have an entire floor to offer, or a little apartment, or a duplex. Here is a partial listing of folks offering housing to share in Home Share Now's service area.

References think a good match would be someone with a sense of humor, independent, who likes to cook and talk. The home provider used to enjoy playing cards.

He does not smoke or drink alcohol and is clear about not wanting drinking alcohol or smoking of any kind in the apartment. A home seeker paying $600 a month would have the option of one of two open bedrooms with the possibility of using the extra room for additional personal space. This home provider describes himself as being quiet, neat, friendly, having a sense of humor and liking animals.  His references say he likes to kid around, likes his space and computer, and is responsible.

A separate 2 room cabin with a bathroom and a small sleeping loft with a financial contribution of $250 is provided in exchange for companionship. Home seeker must see themselves as a member of the team who will fill a gap in care/companionship coverage four nights a week. That presence will provide some respite for a primary caregiver who lives in the home with the home owner.  Home seeker would live in and be responsible for a separate four room cabin behind the main house, and be available the four scheduled evenings a week in the main house until the home provider goes to bed.  No health or personal care needed. Rural farmhouse setting has outdoor farm animals as well as personal pets inside the house. Being patient, sensitive, companionable, and being content to watch TV with the home provider in the evening are key elements for a male or female home seeker willing to work with and communicate through the team. There is space to garden on the ten-and-a-half-acre lot.  She is open to shared meals, and would like her HS to have some shared interests such as reading and discussing current events.  She describes herself as being reserved, quiet, having a sense of humor and easy-going.  She values her time alone and wouldn’t want a talkative, obtrusive person living with her.
