Giving Tuesday 2017
Before the arrival of Black Friday and the commercial frenzy that is sure to follow, why not inaugurate the holiday season with a gift that reflects what the occasion is all about? This November we're trying to raise $1000 as part of our Giving Tuesday campaign. While Giving Tuesday officially falls on the 28th, we are counting all online donations made this month towards our total goal. Last week's newsletter generated a total of $118 in donations—let's keep it going! If you've never given to us, why not try a $1 gift? Just click one of the buttons below. We would greatly appreciate your support!

Unsung Heroes Are Often Close-by

November is National Family Caregivers Month, when we recognize the challenges family caregivers face when loved ones need caregiving long term and often around the clock. Family caregivers are the backbone of our nation’s long-term care system, helping thousands of older Vermonters and Vermonters with disabilities to remain living at home where they want to be.

While Home Share Now does not provide caregiving services, our participants often work in partnership with care teams. These care teams may include both paid and unpaid caregivers. Home sharing is a great strategy to alleviate the stress and anxiety that is often experienced by family caregivers.

Thank you to all the caregivers providing these invaluable services to our fellow Vermonters!

Homesharing in the News
Great to see our sister organization HomeShare Vermont featured in the Addison County Independent! The story relates a successful home share two and a half years in the making between an Addison County homeowner and a Filipino-American registered nurse. Read about it here.
