W is for WOW!
...that's how many folks have secured their housing via Home Share Now to date this fiscal year ending June 30th. Our volunteer Board of Directors are still collecting Annual Outcome Surveys but here's a sampling of what they are hearing:

...that's the number of years served on our Board of Directors by John Sayles, CEO for the Vermont Foodbank. Last month we recognized John's service to Home Share Now, to include serving as Chair for four years. John saw us through the creation and completion of two strategic plans and subsequently enabled the doubling of matched home sharers.

...the number of miles our Executive Director traveled to attend the 2017 World Homeshare Congress in Madrid, Spain to represent both Home Share Now and the National Shared Housing Resource Center. Thanks to a supportive donor, Home Share Now participated in two-days of stimulating conversation with home sharing leaders from around the globe. Sessions included measuring home share outcomes, the value of intergenerational relationships, building a national network of home share programs, and strategies to promote research on home sharing.
...the number of Veterans and their guests that participated in our AmeriCorps Member's Independent Service Project last month at the Montpelier Senior Activity Center. While not home sharing related, we are proud of her commitment to our community.
Patty Paola, our Volunteer Coordinator, organized a Color Guard flag presentation, comments by local representatives, a BBQ lunch, presentation about the Honor Flight program, Open Mic for sharing Veteran experience, and a patriotic Sing-A-Long with special guests -- including former home sharer and Barre-Tones singer Amy Donald!
...the number of days until our AmeriCorps VISTA starts their term -- but first we need to find the right person! Bring your interest in persuasive writing, design, social networking, research, and nonprofit management to Home Share Now. You will get your fill of writing (both grants and marketing), ad design, social networking, donor research, and nonprofit management. While this position will dabble in a variety of tasks, the majority of activities will be in the realms of development, fundraising, and marketing -- you'll work side-by-side our Executive Director.

In addition to the standard VISTA benefits, you will participate in monthly trainings that help you succeed in service and achieve future goals. Topics include personality and leadership styles, personal career plan development, time management and project management, communication skills, grant writing, cultural competency, resume writing, and job search strategies. Each member also receives a training fund so that they can find and attend training and professional conferences that align with their individual goals.
