When Aaron and his partner first moved to Vermont five years ago, they found their first housing through Home Share Now. More than a warm place to stay for the first winter, they found a generous welcome to the Green Mountains from their Home Provider. Aaron is excited to make housing matches and do outreach in the community to find new participants. When not supporting the work of Home Share Now, Aaron runs his own business designing and installing edible, ecological landscapes and raising rotationally grazed grass-fed and finished beef.
Laura has been working at making home share matches since April 2016. Laura came to Home Share Now after working for more than 25 years in early childhood education where she provided services and case management to families with infants and toddlers who had special health & developmental needs. Laura earned her B.A. in liberal arts from Vermont College of Norwich University, and she studied Education of the Deaf at Boston University. Laura has a wealth of personal home-sharing experiences beginning with living in a commune with her family in the late 1960’s, to being a live-in nanny, to sharing homes with friends for years. Laura participated in Home Share Now as a home provider for a year and a half, and she is familiar with the incredible benefits home sharing offers. Laura loves meeting people and finding out about their lives, hopes, and dreams, and she understands well how much having safe, decent housing is key to living one’s dreams.
Roni has been crafting and mediating home sharing agreements with Home Share Now since 2011. She earned her Masters in Mediation and Applied Conflict Studies from the Woodbury Institute at Champlain College (formerly Woodbury College) in 2007. Over the years she has received additional training in Advanced Elder Mediation, Senior Legal Issues, Adult Protective Services Regulations, Gerontology Topics, Bridges Out Of Poverty, Cultural Competency, Mental Health First Aid, Fair Housing Practices in Vermont, Restorative Justice Practices and Community Conferencing, Corporate Social Responsibility, and the Community Dialogue Process. Outside of her role at Home Share Now, she helps individuals and groups navigate challenging situations with her partner at RiverStone Resolutions, LLC.
